Dr. Stephen Holloway is a native of western Pennsylvania. He attended the University of Pittsburgh, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 1998. He went on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Vision Science in 2000 and received his Doctorate of Optometry in 2003. Dr. Holloway is highly skilled in examination, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases, conditions, and abnormalities of the eye, such as dry eye, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration. In addition, he is experienced in fitting all types of contact lenses, including medically necessary contact lenses. He is credentialed in co-managing refractive, cataract, and other ophthalmic surgeries with our strong network of specialists.
Dr. Holloway joined Advanced Family Eye Care after having worked in optometric practices across western Pennsylvania (in Greensburg, Latrobe, and Uniontown) and at the Baltimore Veterans Hospital. He is comfortable with patients of all ages after his internship experiences at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in pediatrics and at the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center for low vision.
Dr. Holloway is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the Western Pennsylvania Optometric Society.

Outside of the office, Dr. Holloway enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. He also volunteers as a baseball coach and soccer coach and enjoys being active in the community.
Dr. Gerald Soltis is a native of western Pennsylvania and makes his home in Harmony, PA. He attended Gannon University earning his Degree in Biology in 1972. He went on to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry to earn his Doctorate of Optometry in 1977.
Dr. Soltis has been serving Zelienople and the surrounding communities for over 3 decades. He has extensive experience in examining, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of eye health conditions as well as co-managing the care of cataract, lasik, and other ophthalmic surgeries. Prior to starting the practice in Zelienople in 1981, Dr. Soltis worked with the Everett and Hurite ophthalmic group. Dr. Soltis has a long history of caring for patients of all ages. He has also been passionate about giving back and has spent time caring for patients in Honduras and Haiti, providing eye exams and glasses on trips through organizations such as Global Medical Brigades.
Dr. Soltis is a long-time member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. He has also co-authored articles on Intraocular Lens Implantation in the Journal of the American Optometric Association.
Outside of the office, Dr. Soltis enjoys spending time with his wife and two adult children. He enjoys traveling, fishing, kayaking, and any opportunity to spend time outdoors!
Dr. Derek O’Donnell attended Grove City College, earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular Biology in 2002. He continued his education at Nova Southeastern University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Vision Science and Doctorate in Optometry in 2006.
Dr. O’Donnell has received clinical high honors for contact lens and pediatric care, and has continued to strive to offer the most innovative care for his patients. Beyond his role as a primary care optometrist, he was on staff at Elk Regional Health Center in St. Marys, PA, for emergency room care and hospital consultations involving the eye. His research on the focusing of the eye “accommodation” was published in the Journal of Optometry and presented at national optometric conventions. Dr. O’Donnell has been a clinical sub-investigator for multiple FDA studies including the latest innovations in glaucoma treatments, cataract surgery, presbyopia, and dry eye. He has lectured about glaucoma and refractive surgeries involving the newest implant and laser procedures.
Dr. O’Donnell has worked in optometric settings in both Florida and Pennsylvania, and has co-managed the care of multiple ophthalmic surgeries and eye health conditions. As a native of Butler county, he is excited to join Advanced Family Eye Care and continue his work as an optometrist near the communities where he grew up. He is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.
Outside of the office, Dr. O’Donnell likes to spend time with his wife and two children. He also enjoys being outdoors hunting and golfing.
